Northern China's port Qingdao has launched two new automated container berths at its Qianwan port area
Qingdao Qianwan Port Area plans to build 6 berths with a designed throughput capacity of 5.2 million teu. The first two phases, consisting of four container berths, are already operational, and the fifth and sixth container berths are newly delivered, with a throughput of 700,000 TEUs.
Qingdao Port stated that the operation of the new berth will further expand the production capacity of Qingdao Port and expand the foreign trade market.
In the first three quarters of this year, the container throughput of Qingdao Port was 22.34 million TEUs, a year-on-year increase of 11.6%.
