Throughout the Spring Festival, the major terminals of Guangzhou Port are filled with a lively and festive atmosphere. It is reported that the Municipal Port Authority has taken the initiative to connect with energy security companies such as Guangdong LNG and power plants, as well as liner companies and comprehensive large-scale terminals, to understand the dynamics of ship arrivals, scientifically and rationally formulate ship entry and exit plans, and allocate personnel, sites, equipment, tugboats and other production resources and go all out to ensure efficient port operations during the Spring Festival. In 2023, Guangzhou Port completed cargo throughput of 675 million tons and container throughput of 25.41 million TEU, a year-on-year increase of 2.91% and 2.24% respectively, ranking 5th and 6th in the world respectively.
