Cathay Pacific Airways Limited, referred to as Cathay Pacific Airways (English: Cathay Pacific Airways Limited, Hong Kong Stock Exchange: 0293, OTCBB: CPCAY), was founded on September 24, 1946 by American Roy C Farrell and Australian Sydney H de Kantzow [1 ], Is the first airline in Hong Kong to provide civil aviation services.
Cathay Pacific Airways Limited is a member of the Swire Group and one of the founding members of oneworld, with Hong Kong International Airport as its hub. Its subsidiaries include Dragonair and China Civil Aviation. On January 22, 2016, Cathay Pacific's first 747-400ERF with a new paint was unveiled. In November 2015, Cathay Pacific launched a new painting on the 777-300ER: replaced with a new and smoother line of the "head flapping" logo; simplified Cathay Pacific's color spectrum to three colors of green, gray, and white; highlighting the name of Cathay Pacific and the "head flapping" logo "Wing" pattern. Among them, the changes to the nose, fuselage and tail are the most significant [2]. On March 27, 2019, Cathay Pacific Airways announced that Cathay Pacific spent HK$4.9 billion to acquire 100% of Hong Kong Express Airways. Hong Kong Express Airways will become a wholly-owned subsidiary of Cathay Pacific Airways.
